I love Lindholm but if we can get Hamilton back as part of a deal for him, I'm 100% on board with it.

Definitely hesitant to trade Hanifin AND Lindholm without another significant piece (or two) coming back from the Flames.

If the Canes can manage to get Hamilton without losing Hanifin, that has them with

Hanifin-Hamilton
Slavin-Faulk
Fleury-Pesce

I assume Calgary would need another defenseman back, like Trevor van Reimsdyk or something.

While GMs do dumb poop all the time (see Bergevin, Marc) it's hard to see Lindholm alone coming even mildly close to getting you Hamilton

I'm starting to get really nervous. Dougie's name has been brought up multiple times now in trade rumours. Does the Flames brass really don't know what they have in him? I'm gonna be pissed if he gets traded. No matter what the return

Bingo, (frank) off with that crappy proposal. CAR would be adding. CGY shouldn’t do it unless it’s Lindholm, Hanifin or another good young D and the 2nd OA.
To trade Hamilton it needs to be an overpay. And this is acceptable to me. Maybe we take Darling’s contract and they throw in Zykov, with Brouwer and another piece from us going back.
Then we flip Darling and another piece to CHI for Saad. 👍

Everyone likes dougie the hockey player, but hes a baby behind the scenes and obviously an issue with two teams wanting to get rid of him before hes 25.

Seems to be issues with Hamilton. Young good Dman that 2 teams (potentially) have given up on. Attitude or whatever, something is up. The only thing we do know is CGY won't be trading their 2018 1st, 2nd or 3rd.....

How is he a baby behind the scenes? I'm honestly asking cause I haven't heard anything confirmed. Is there a legit published source?

TSN mentions Dougie for site traffic and suddenly he’s a baby that two teams have given up on.

I just mentioned to Bingo he was off but come the (frank) on adding 2nd OA. That isn't even slightly rational

I think there was some poop going down in the dressing room at the end of the year. The team absolutely tanked.

Anyways I am not going to speculate it was DH.

Anyways Hanafin and Lindholm for DH would get things started. What would it take to get the #2 tossed in?

This is a top pairing, 25 year old defenseman who keeps improving and already has underlying numbers placing him in the top 15 defensemen in the league. He should be extremely expensive.

He shouldn't, no.

I imagine it would have to be a package of some variety. Certainly with Calgary at least taking back a defenseman.

Not certainly. Flames have a deep defense prospect pool. There's a couple rooks ready to step in soon.

Really. You wanted us to add a couple bigger pieces for Lindholm and Hanifin. You get the (frank) out. Seriously. We’re not talking about a 30 year old that had some decent years. He’s 24 and has improved each and every year. We’d add a piece but yea, 2nd OA. Otherwise it’s not worth it to us. Lindholm isn’t anything special; a middle 6 fwd. and Hanifin isn’t at the same level Dougie is. There’s only 3-4 years difference. Hamilton is proven and keeps getting better. We’re taking all the risk on that deal.

More than you’re willing to pay. Flames don’t have the draft picks, moveable roster players, or prospects to land 2

Tell me why. Someone convince me why this isn’t a reasonable ask? Who are Lindholm, Hanifin and Svechnikov (likely) exactly that we shouldn’t expect this as a return for a 6’6” right shot D who’s under 25, gets better every year and let the league (tied) in goals from the D last year?
I acknowledge it’s a high ask but Convince me.

They are definitely not ideal, but it does make you wonder if all the rumours that surround Dougie are true?

If he is in fact traded that’s 2 teams by the age of 25.

Plus what is he going to cost us in 2years to re sign him?

Gaudreau +.

Come on, man. Hanifin AND Lindholm to start?

Hamilton is a real good player but you're not getting a 21 year old defenseman AND a 23 year old forward, who are both established NHL players, just for him.

Hell Hanifin might be as good as Hamilton next season if his progression continues. Why would we give up him AND a solid middle 6, 40+ point guy who can play C or wing?

Because Andrei Svechnikov alone is worth more than Dougie Hamilton.

Do you really not know who Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin are?
